We’re extremely pleased to announce that Your Space will be open at the very first opportunity on Wednesday 2nd December, and we can’t wait to see you all!

Our gym sessions will be back as normal with bookings required as before. Bookings will be required for any session as peak times between 4pm-8.15pm. 

Bookings can be made from Friday 27th November at 9am.

As the new Tier 3 local restrictions are now in place, unfortunately, we are unable to offer Group Exercise to our customers. As a valued member we will always look for ways to support you and keep you active. So, we are still offering our members Your Space @ Home for FREE, to get moving straight please check your inbox to retrieve your unique promo code and follow the steps to join.

Swimming sessions are available to book as normal but there will be no aqua based group exercise available.

Payments – For people whose direct debits were taken on the 1st November, you will not pay again until 1st January. When will my next payment be taken?

For people whose direct debits were taken on the 1st November you will not pay again until 1st January.

How many sessions can I book? 

Members can book one gym session & one swim session (Subject to availability).

Do I have to book a swim session?

Yes. To enjoy one of our lane swim sessions you must pre-book. This can done following the same process as booking a gym session.

To book one a Calypso Cove leisure swim you need to book via the Calypso Cove website www.calypsocovewaterpark.org.uk here you can add a ‘FITNESS / SWIM SCHOOL MEMBERS’ ticket to your basket. You can add one of these tickets to your basket for every person who has an active gym or swim school membership with us and purchase any additional tickets you need for non-members alongside this. The ticket will show up as a cost but if you use promo-code ‘MEMBER‘ in the discount code area it will clear the cost of these for you!

Please be aware that we will be checking all membership cards and numbers against these tickets and you will be asked for proof of this on arrival – if you do not have an active membership you will be asked to pay full price or refused entry.

Are Aqua classes running?

No, Aqua classes aren’t currently running as they fall into group exercise. Lane Swimming will continue as normal.

Your venue will be closed but your payments will be frozen

Unfortunately, due to the most recent government lockdown announcement, we will once again be temporarily closing on Wednesday 4th November at 10pm.

We will automatically FREEZE all memberships and we WILL NOT TAKE ANY PAYMENTS during the closure. So there is NO NEED to cancel your Direct Debit, or your membership.

There’s no need to contact us, we’re taking care of everything automatically.

We can’t wait to welcome you back as soon as we possibly can. (Fingers crossed we are allowed to re-open on 2nd December.)

COVID-19 Tier 3 update 21.10.20

We would just like to give you a reassuring update regarding today’s announcement from the Government. As you may be aware, our area will now be in Tier 3, the very high level of the Covid Alert system from 00:01 on Saturday 24th October. However, your venue will still remain open, with some minor changes.

 – The gym will be open as usual with all social distancing measures in place.

Group Exercise Classes – Unfortunately, due to the Tier 3 restrictions from the government, there will now be no group exercise classes taking place from Saturday 24th October, until government restrictions are relaxed.

However, we will be live streaming your favourite classes via the Your Space App from Saturday 24th October. We will be releasing a live streaming timetable in the coming days, watch this space…

Also, we will now be giving all our members at venues effected by the Tier 3 restrictions FREE access to Your Space at Home until January! This is our new online club that has over 1200 minutes worth of your favourite classes, taught by your favourite instructors, that you can do from the comfort of your own home. We will be sending out your unique code for this in the coming days.

Swimming – Swimming sessions and lessons remain unaffected, and will continue as usual with all social distancing measures in place.
Changes will be made to Calypso Cove Waterpark opening days and times in the coming days. Please keep an eye out on their Facebook page for updates.

COVID-19 Tier 2 update 12.10.20

We would just like to give you a reassuring update regarding yesterday’s announcement from the Government. As you may be aware, our area is now in Tier 2, the high level of the Covid Alert system. However, at this present time, this means there are no changes to the current way we are operating with safety restrictions in place.

We are extremely thankful for your cooperation so far and we please ask you remain alert, continuing to follow all the steps to keep our staff, members and yourself safe;

  • Follow all social distancing rules and remain 2 metres apart in all areas of our facility
  • Continue sanitising your hands regularly
  • Ensure you wipe down the equipment after each use with cleaning equipment provided
  • Train on your own (pairs permitted if you are from the same household)
  • Wear a face covering in all communal areas

We will continue to operate our current group exercise programme with all social distancing measures in place. Normal booking processes apply to our classes and gym sessions where applicable – please note bookings can only be made for people in the same household.

All aquatics activities including swimming lessons will take place as they have been unless you are contacted and told otherwise.

We are working closely with the local authorities on the provisions we can operate and we will provide updates as soon as we have any further information. Please stay safe and follow the guidelines in place so we can continue to remain open. After all, this is your space to feel good.

COVID-19 face covering update 15.09.20

From the 24th September we are asking members to wear a face covering in some areas of our Your Space sites (Please visit you chosen Your Space site for more details on the areas in which you will be required to wear face coverings).

Although we are rigidly monitoring capacities within our facility as per government guidance there will be a slight increase in people passing through reception and communal areas, therefore using a face covering is an extra precaution we’d like you to take.

What we are doing to keep you safe

We’ve missed you and we’re looking forward to welcoming you back to Your Space.

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to create a safe environment for you to visit and we’ve made some changes to how we do things. Everyone will have a part to play in keeping our gyms safe, and we’ll be asking you follow a few rules too.

Keeping you safe and healthy is our number one priority. That’s why we’re introducing new cleaning procedures and social distancing measures, which have been guided by the experts at UK Active, the UK government and Public Health England.


Members will be expected to sanitise their hands at reception and additional hand sanitiser units have been positioned at key areas across the sites.

Cleaning and disinfecting

We’ll be sanitising gym equipment throughout the day and giving the entire site a deep clean every night. All staff have had cleaning training and they’ll be using enhanced cleaning processes including a detergent, followed by a disinfectant.

Social distancing

You’ll see new social distancing signs around the gym, including one-way systems where possible. We’re also limiting the number of members in each area, such as the gym floor, studios, swimming pool and changing rooms. And we’ve reduced the amount of equipment and lockers available.

Changes to classes

We’re running smaller classes to keep everyone safe and the classes will be shorter than usual (30–45 mins) to make sure we have enough time to clean the studios. We’re only running certain classes to ensure social distancing – be sure to check our updated timetable.

Limited services and facilities

Our relaxation areas and cafés will have a reduced service. Please see relevant site for specific details.

Protecting you and our teams

We’ve installed plastic shields at our reception desks and we’ll be providing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to our staff if necessary.

How you can keep yourself and others safe

To keep our gyms as safe and clean as possible, we need your help too. We ask that you follow a few simple rules when you visit our clubs.

Before coming to the gym

Booking a session. All members will be asked to pre-book a session before attending our facilities via the Your Space App. This will be required for a gym session, classes or members swims.

Members will be giving an advanced booking privilege. Further details of the sessions available and how to book will be announced in due course.

Stay home if you’re unwell. Please don’t come to the gym if you feel sick or have COVID-19 symptoms.

Bring your own. Bring a full water bottle as the water fountains aren’t in use. If you’re doing yoga or Pilates, bring your own mat if you have one. Please don’t bring a sweat towel.

Arrive ready to work out. Please come in your workout gear to avoiding using the changing rooms. We advise against wearing face masks as these can hinder your breathing while exercising, and gloves aren’t recommended as they can’t easily be cleaned – please use the hand sanitiser provided instead.

Travel light. We won’t have as many lockers available as usual, so please think about how much you’re bringing with you.

Pre-book your swim. In addition to booking exercise classes, you’ll also need to book your swimming session in advance if you’d like to use the pool. You can do this using the Your Space App or online bookings.

Bring your bank card. As we can’t accept cash if you want to buy anything.

Whenever you’re ready, we’ll be there to make your return as straightforward as possible. In the meantime, you have some options.

Have my payments been suspended?

There’s no need to contact us, we’re taking care of everything automatically. All memberships will be frozen and we will not take any further payments during the closure. Please don’t cancel your direct debit, your PRICE FOR LIFE is locked in!

Why has payment been taken for November?

Due to the late announcement on Saturday evening it was impossible to stop any payments, therefore, if we are able to re-open on 2nd December then your next payment date will not be until 1st January. We will not be issuing refunds as standard due to the length of time it takes to generate and receive, all annuals will be given a further month and the 15th payment won’t be taken in November.

Why is there a transaction pending on my account? 

Where your membership has been frozen or cancelled, in some cases, your online banking may show your next payment as pending (or listed as an upcoming bill/Direct Debit due for collection). We recommend checking with your bank to see if any additional payments are due.

I am an annual pre-paid member, will my membership be extended?

Yes, we’ll be extending your membership by the length of time that the club is closed for.

How do I access Your Space at Home?

We understand the impact this can have not only physically and mentally, but we’re in this together! To keep you active at home we are giving 3 months FREE access to our new online club – Your Space at home

Our approach to safety, cleanliness and social distancing

Is it safe to go back to the gym?

Yes, we’re confident in our ability to minimise the risk of infection and keep our members safe. 

We’ll be implementing enhanced cleaning procedures and adopting stringent social distancing measures to create a safe environment for you to visit. 

 We are also asking members and staff not visit the club if they feel unwell or have COVID-19 symptoms, and there will be clear signage to reflect this. 

What are your enhanced cleaning and safety procedures?

Both staff and members will play a part in creating a clean and safe environment for everyone. Our increased infection prevention procedures include:

  • Hand sanitising stations: We ask that you sanitise your hands in the entrance on arrival and throughout the gym during your visit
  • Disinfectant Wipe Pods: We also ask that you clean any gym equipment before and after use with the cleaning products avaialble.
  • Enhanced cleaning procedures- our teams will be carrying out enhanced cleaning procedures focusing heavily on all touch points throughout the day.
  • Increased cleaning hours: Gym equipment will be sanitised on a regular basis throughout the day and the gym. We’ll also be shortening group exercise classes to allow more time for the studios to be cleaned.
  • Training: All staff have undertaken cleaning training including COVID-19 Awareness, Infection Prevention and Hand Hygiene
  • Protection: We’ve installed plastic shields at reception desks and we’ll be providing PPE for our staff in line with Public Health England recommendations.
What social distancing measures have you put in place?
  • Social distancing signage: This includes including floor markers indicating where to stand, posters indicating capacity in each area of the gym and, where possible, directional signs indicating one-way systems
  • Limits on numbers: To avoid overcrowding, we will limit how many people are allowed in the gym at once.It is important you book your session before you arrive , so we can keep track of numbers and always comply with social distancing measures .We will need to ask you to wait before you enter the gym floor, using the social distance markers. We ask all members not to enter the site until the start of their session.
  • Swim session booking: In addition to class and gym floor bookings, we’ll be taking bookings for swim sessions to limit the number of members using the pool. 
  • Smaller classes: Studio capacity will be reduced for group exercise classes to allow for the 2-metre social distancing rule. When you’re waiting for your class, please follow social distancing rules and clear the studio space as quickly as you can when the class has finished
  • Shorter classes: Classes will be between 30 and 45 minutes, to allow time for cleaning and to allow members to leave the studio safely
  • Less equipment: Some equipment on the gym floor will be unavailable to allow for social distancing
  • Fewer lockers: To avoid having too many people in the changing rooms, there won’t be as many lockers available as usual.
Will staff be wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)?

Our staff will be risk assessed for the need for barrier protection, e.g. face coverings such as visors. PHE guidance states that where physical distancing can’t be maintained, or the possibility for exposure is high (such as long lengths of time indoors) or risk of activity is high (for example directly working with bodily fluids) there is a higher risk of exposure. 

All members of our clean team will be provided with adequate PPE to ensure both their own safety and yours, in line with Public Health England and UK Active advice. All other members of staff will be wearing PPE where the 2-metre rule can’t be adhered to. 

Gloves can be contaminated with germs, which are difficult to remove, so regular handwashing and using antibacterial hand sanitiser is deemed to be more hygienic. In addition, in a gym environment masks will get damp, which reduces their effectiveness and may also limit a member’s oxygenation when working at intensity. 

Will you be providing hand sanitising gel and wipes in the club?

Yes, there will be a free-standing hand sanitising station at the entrance to your gym, which we ask you to use before you enter, as well as additional-mounted hand sanitising dispensers in key areas throughout the gym. 

There will also be disinfectant spray and blue roll available so you can clean your equipment and mats before and after use. 

Have the gyms been deep cleaned?

Yes, all gyms were cleaned and sanitised prior to closure and will receive a further deep clean before reopening. This is an enhanced cleaning process to ensure gyms are clean and disinfected as part of BPL . 

During the closure, all our swimming pools have remained full, filtrated and dosed with the appropriate level of chemicals to ensure they are in the best condition for reopening. Regular checks on the water quality have been completed along with planned maintenance of the pool plant equipment. A full opening procedure has taken place following the guidance from the British Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group (PWTAG). 

Our sites have been visited regularly by our building maintenance teams and we have followed a strict water management regime of regular flushing and turnover of water in our systems, along with temperature monitoring on all our showers and taps. A number of microbiological water tests will be carried out on our water system prior to opening. 

How can I reduce the spread of infection in the gym to protect myself and others?

Please stay at home if you have any concerns whatsoever that you may have contracted, or been in touch with anyone infected with COVID-19.

When in the gym, following the simple guidelines: keep your distance, wash your hands, and clean down kit before and after use with the new self-cleaning stations provided. Also, try not to talk directly to people face to face, rather to one side of each other. Shouting propels droplets further. If coughing or sneezing, do so into the inside of your elbow to catch droplets.

Visiting the gym

Will there be any changes to my gym’s opening hours?

Yes some of our sites have adjusted their opening hours please check their specific website for full opening times.

Will there be any changes to the class timetable?

Yes, the class timetable will be changing as certain classes will be unable to run. Please check the timetable and make sure you book through the app or online before attending a class. 

We’ll also be shortening the classes to between 30 and 45 minutes to allow more time for the studios to cleaned. 

Is there a time limit on my visit to the gym?

Currently sites have adopted a time limit on all training sessions, this will be reviewed on a regular basis.

How do I make a class or swim booking?

Please use the online bookings or Your space app to book your class , gym or swim session. You can also book online. If you don’t have an account or need help getting started please click here.

Do I need to arrive earlier for my booked class?

Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before your booked session start time and a member of staff will direct you to a designated area to wait. 

What should I bring?
  • Workout gear: Please arrive ready to work out to avoid using the changing room.
  • Minimal belongings: All you need is your membership card and bank card if you want to make a purchase – we won’t be accepting cash
  • Full water bottle: Water fountains will be unavailable for hygiene reasons. You can purchase a bottle of water using your contactless card if needed
  • Yoga mat: If you’ve booked a yoga or Pilates class we ask that you bring your own mat
  • Towel: If you’re using the pool, please bring your own towel. Please don’t bring a sweat towel.
Do I need to arrive ready to workout?

Yes, please do arrive ready to workout where possible as the changing rooms have limited capacity. 

Will there be changing rooms and lockers available?

The changing rooms will not be open during this time but our toilets will be available.

There will be a limited number of lockers available, so please limit your personal belongings and only use a locker if absolutely necessary. 

Unfortunately swimsuit dryers, hair driers and straighteners will be unavailable. 

Gym services and facilities

Will I be able to access Personal Training when you reopen?

Yes, however we will only allow our PT’s to have 1-1 sessions during this period. The only exception to this is a group session with people from the same household.   

Can I book a programme review or induction?

Yes we will be offering these on a 1-1 basis or if you are part of the same household you can do this together with one of instructors.  

Are you allowing junior’s into gym sessions?

Yes, the capacities will differ site to site and they are expected to book as per adult member.

Are squash courts available?

Squash courts will remain closed until the government advises it is safe to reopen. This includes solo usage.

Will I be able to buy food and drink at the cafe?

We’ll be offering a reduced café service with some cafés remaining closed.

At the reopened cafés, you’ll be able to buy grab-and-go items like protein bars, snacks and hot drinks. Also, opening hours will be reduced, seating areas will be closed, and we’ll only be able to accept card payments for now.

Swimming and relaxation areas

Will I be able to use the swimming pool?

Yes, swimming sessions will be available. You’ll need to book in for your swim session using the online booking system. Timetables may vary. Please check website for further details.

What about family swim sessions?

They will be available through the booking system, please check website for availability.

Will I be able to use the sauna, steam room and spa pools?

All saunas, steam rooms and spa pools will remain closed. We’ll reopen these facilities as soon as we’re able to following government advice.

Will classes run by external providers still be operating (e.g. Puddle Ducks)

No, these classes won’t be available when we reopen. We’ll restart them as soon as we’re able to.

Other FAQs

Can I bring a friend using a free day pass?

No, unfortunately day passes won’t be accepted for the foreseeable future.

I usually workout with a friend, can I still do this?

Please try to limit person-to-person contact and be mindful of social distancing. You shouldn’t share equipment without cleaning first. You may need to adapt your training, for example, you won’t be able to ‘spot’ each other or share weights.
