Swimming Pool Closure – Important Information
We’d like to let our customers know that the swimming pool at Your Space Bircotes Leisure Centre will be temporarily closed from Monday 30 November to Monday 28 December 2026 while we carry out important improvement works.
During this time, we’ll be resurfacing the poolside and making improvements to the pool hall air-handling system, helping us provide a better swimming environment for everyone.
We’ve scheduled these works for December to minimise disruption wherever possible, during what is typically a quieter time of year for swimming activities.
What activities will be affected?
All swimming activities at Your Space Bircotes will be suspended during the closure, including:
- Public swimming sessions
- Water-based fitness classes
- Your Swim Academy swimming lessons
The closure relates to the swimming pool and associated swimming activities.
When will the swimming pool reopen?
We anticipate that the swimming pool will reopen for public swimming and water-based activities on Tuesday 29 December 2026, subject to the completion of the improvement works.
As with any improvement works, unforeseen delays can occasionally happen. We’ll keep customers informed of any changes to the planned reopening date through our website, social media channels and email.
Information for Your Swim Academy members
All Your Swim Academy lessons at Bircotes will be suspended during the closure.
Swimming lessons will resume from Saturday 2 January 2027, with swimmers returning to their usual scheduled lessons.
To account for the temporary closure, no swimming lesson payments will be taken on 1 December 2026.
Swimming at other Your Space centres
While the Bircotes swimming pool is closed, members can continue enjoying public swimming at our nearby centres:
Bircotes fitness members can access public swimming sessions and water-based fitness classes at these centres, while Bircotes Swim Academy members can access public swimming sessions.
All visits are subject to normal timetables, booking requirements where applicable and each centre’s admission rules. We recommend checking availability before travelling.
Thank you for your understanding
We apologise for any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause and appreciate your patience while these improvements take place.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the Bircotes swimming pool soon.
Keep an eye on our website and Your Space Bircotes social media channels for the latest updates.
