Gym usually okOther than getting the occasional idiot that think they can leave their gear on the machines while they go and spend 10 minutes in the toiletThen return and think they can take over the machine again
There is something here for everybody who is interested in their health from swimming to cardio from free weights to weight machines of every kind. The staff are friendly and helpful. A great experience.
I have used the leisure centre all my life. There is plenty to do it has a fully equipped gym, a swimming pool (could be bigger in my opinion) squash courts, a sports hall, outside astroturf area and they host kiddies parties so they have a cupboard full of toys and stuff that they pull out when a party is required. It's very reasonably priced and if you're a member even cheaper still.
I have recommended to lots of friends - friendly staff, great spin classes, gym is clean with good equipment (and never too busy), pool is perfect and you can always book a squash court. The atmosphere is so much better than other gyms I have been a member of - welcoming and relaxed
I tried a couple other gyms and this is by far the best one for the different types of machines and classes they offer. I'm not an avid gym goer and don't find it too intimidating doing things alone or in a class. The staff are also cheery and welcoming.
Most of the staff are generally friendly and helpful and the place is usually very clean. I find that it gets busy on certain days and you have to plan around those. Forget Monday and probably Tuesday evenings and its not too bad. The atmosphere isn't great IMO and its hard to pinpoint why that is.Overall I would say its better than most with only more staff training required to bring it where it could be.
Great sized gym. Every free weight and machine you could ask for.Including full changing rooms with sauna and steam room.If you download the app ‘hustle’ you can purchase a 1 month membership for just over 30£ and under. No commitment , no hassle.I use this gym every time I’m hone from working abroad. Ideal membership options👍
This is an excellent gym. People actually seem to know what they're doing which is always a bonus, staff are nice and it has a good selection of equipment. Also the times I've been have never been too busy and there is enough equipment for availability, no standing around waiting.
Clean in the pool and locker rooms. Not over crowded during lap swimming or family swim. The chlorine level wasn't too bad either. Normally my eyes sting for ages afterwards but I was able to swim for an hour without goggles with only mild mistiness. Reasonably priced.
Very professional, friendly and helpful staff. Something for all levels of fitness, age and activity preference. Some classes get booked up quickly and there is a waiting list. Maybe new or extra classes could be put onto cope with higher demand or facilitate times for different lifestyles. On sunny days the main room upstairs can get very hot, due to the present lack of shade for the sun roof. No lockers upstairs to the best of my knowledge.
My Granddaughters both have swimming lessons here.lovely place to swim for all ages.Such a friendly environment. The welcome is wonderful right from reception through to poolside.Kind, caring people that are a credit to Worksop make this a great experience.
Well laid out car park with dedicated disabled parking on either side of the centre. The centre itself has a two storey gym, the exercise equipment is ample and clients referred by a GP can request one to one help and supervision. It has a clean 25m pool and smaller pool where numerous classes are held and evening and weekend lessons are held for "Learn to Swim" with Lifeguard attending. Single Changing rooms and one for group changing for women and one for men are also available. Toilets for disabled in changing rooms and in foyer and on first floor which can be accessed by a lift. Seating in spectator gallery is clean and adequate for galas which are held at times. There is a dance studio where classes are held and steam and sauna rooms in changing rooms. All in all well worth visiting.
So I joined this gym at the beginning of 2022, after 10 years of not stepping into one. I was out of shape and unsure of what to do. I was pleasantly surprised by the facilities available at this gym and the amount of things you get for your subscription. The staff are super-friendly and are always happy to help. I had my induction with Louise and she has been helping me achieve my goal by tailoring a workout plan for me. Definitely the best gym I've ever been to.
I used to love coming to Royston Gym but ever since the new year the place is pretty much always packed. There just isn't enough equipment to serve the amount of people who use the facilities. It's a shame really that they haven't extended the Gym area given the sudden surge of new starters. The swimming baths are adequate and the staff are friendly throughout. Not too keen on the booking system via the app. You're lucky to get a space half the time but if you want to cancel you have to make sure you do it hours before or you get a strike. It used to be 1 hour before but seemingly that has changed now.Back to the Gym. For some reason Gary who was a trainer at the gym has left which I found a shame as he was quite the personable guy and really looked after the gym equipment. He wouldn't stand for weights being left all over and he would clean the floor regularly. I think it still gets cleaned but I am not sure it's as often. I have also trained in the gym when there have been no trainers present to keep an eye on things. This is only a recent thing not sure why! I would be concerned that if anyone had a heart attack or required medical assistants then who is going to help with the defibrillator. My most recent gripe is the fact that the gym although sweltering doesn't seem to have air-conditioning activated. Honestly, this must be some sort of a trick to make folk leave sooner as you literally sweat in buckets before having to leave through dehydration.Come on Royston gym management. We pay enough to have a really good experience inside of the premises and for some reason more recently this really does not seem to be the case.
Pretty decent leisure centre. Adult lane swimming is few and far between. Seems they cater more for aqua airobics and clubs over than your average fitness/leisure swimmer. Gym facilities aren't bad. There's enough there to get each muscle group. Changing rooms could do with a refurb but they are clean enough.
